Coronavirus Information
Call your doctor if you develop these symptoms or have been in close contact with a person known to have coronavirus or if you have recently traveled to an area with a wide or ongoing outbreak of the virus. You may also call the state’s dedicated coronavirus call center at 866-779-6121; this line is available 24/7. For questions related to coronavirus on a local level, please call the Florida Department of Health in Polk County’s information center at 863-519-7911. This information center is available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

April 18, 2020
Governor Ron DeSantis and Commissioner of Education Richard Corcoran recommended that all Florida public and private K-12 schools continue distance learning and keep campuses closed for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year.

April 1, 2020
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed Executive Order 20-91 on April 1 outlining a stay-at-home policy for Floridians. The Order took effect Friday, April 3 at 12:01 a.m. and will last until Thursday, April 30th, unless it is extended for a longer duration.

The Commissioner of Education expanded school closures through May 1st.

Beginning March 30 through April 15, schools and district offices are closed to the public. Limited staff will be present.
Polk County Public Schools will continue the food distribution schedule from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday through Friday, while all schools are closed statewide through April 15.

Schools must develop and share Continuity Learning Plan (CLP) with stakeholders. The CLP will outline classroom learning platforms, office hours, resources, and communications.

In accordance with the Florida Department of Education, PPCA will be moving to full on-line distance learning effective March 30 through April 15, 2020. PPCA will continue to use current web-based learning programs and software applications.
There are no new academic expectations until March 30, 2020. Please check PPCA emails for further information and academic directives from your student's respective teacher.

State Testing Dates
Governor DeSantis has announced that K-12 schools in Florida will remain closed until Wednesday, April 15. All state assessments (FSA & EOC’s) have been canceled for this school year.

Report Cards
The closing of the 3rd quarter was on Friday, March 13, 2020. Grades are due March 20, with report cards scheduled for distribution on March 30, 2020.

SCHOOL CLOSED MARCH 16-27
In accordance with the Florida Department of Education, Polk Pre-Collegiate Academy will be closed March 16-27, with plans to reopen March 30, 2020.
